It has almost been two full weeks since we have heard any news about Payback for the iPhone/iPod touch but we finally have an update for you.  The developers have given us a new release date which is January 28th.  That’s right, tomorrow Payback will be making it’s triumphant return to the App Store after the whole bug fiasco.

Upon its initial release, gamers around the world started reporting that Payback had a major bug in the very  first mission of the game.  The bug allegedly wasn’t visible during the testing phase and only became apparent when the game was released.  The developer, Apex Designs, wasted no time taking the game down from the App Store instead of allowing gamers to download it and wait patiently for an update.

Payback is a top-down GTA style game that has been ported and optimized for the iPhone/iPod touch’s unique controls.
