No Elites in Halo 3: ODST

According to this week’s Bungie Weekly Update, Halo 3: ODST won’t include any Elites to destroy.  The reason behind this is the Elites actually weren’t on Earth at the period in time Halo 3: ODST takes place.

Truth’s divisive mandate had been set in motion.  The Elites had exhausted their usefulness to him, they would not be allowed to meddle in his affairs any longer, and he would not place his rightful transcendence into the hands of incompetents.  His word was law.

So the Prophet of Truth deploys Brutes.

The Prophet of Truth at this point in the story didn’t trust the Sangheili (Elites) to do what was necessary so he deployed Jiralhanae (Brutes).  This makes sense to me so let’s just take Bungie’s word for it, they did create the story after all.

It looks like we are just going to have to get our pleasures from shooting Brutes, Grunts and Jackals this time around.

  1. I’m sure this will semi-annoy a lot of gamers, but it’s completely logical given the time frame of the events in ODST. You don’t really fight Elite’s in Halo 3 either, since they’re now allies. However, this all takes place before the Elites become your allies.

  2. I’m looking forward to seeing this thing, seriously. I’m not really whimpering at the fact that their won’t be any Elites (although they do kick ass). If the plot doesn’t call for it, then I think that ODST is going to be just fine.

  3. Actually there are elites but they’re dead
