Three red rings means the you have the RRoD and your console is bricked. If it happens within 3 years of the manufacture date, MS will fix it for free. No shit, right? Well, a new error seems to be popping up and it’s E-74. For this error, you only get 1 ring of death and MS will not cover the repair. This is happening more frequently than people think and reports of it are flooding in. If anyone knows what the error means, lay it on me.

Since Microsoft just calls it a general hardware failure, it could be anything from CPU to GPU to memory crapping out. I have a feeling these are just normal failures and nothing to get all bent out of shape over. Consumer electronics fail, maybe this is just the same type of stuff we see with minimal amounts of PS3 and Wii systems breaking.
could be a/v cable connection problem. try unplugging HDD, memory card & reconnect a/v cable.
If any of you guys want to try to get it fixed for free ask me and I’ll try to help you out with what to say. I talked to them and got my friends 360 repaired for free.
i think its disc read error

oh MS another scandalous quality issue, really??? My 360 was acting whacky the other day and not loading the main dash, had to turn it off for a bit and let it take a break, then started firing up ok. Got scared for a sec though.
Meh, my old Xbox still has the disc read errors (launch X-crate). If it’s only a disc read error, fix it the way I did on my old system, turn it off and back on a few times.
whenever i hear about the ring of death i can’t help thinking of the movie with Naomi Watts
