Some games end up great, some end up in the bargain bin a few days after release. Not every one can be a AAA title and 2008 proved that point. Here’s our picks for the worst game of the year.
Bringing up the rear is Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm. A lot of us here are big fans of the show and wanted to get drunk and go crab fishing. The graphics, controls, and most everything about the game just weren’t good. After 10 minutes, I never wanted to go back to the game.
Coming in second place is Haze. After all the hype, we expected a solid game. That’s the farthest thing from what we got. Boring gameplay and a not-so-original story made for a very lackluster experience.
That brings us to our pick for the worst game of 2008. The distinct pleasure of holding that title for the year is Legendary. A very poor story, poor controls, poor graphics, and a poor overall gameplay experience made it the worst game we played in 2008. Don’t bother with any of these games.
We’re wrapping up tomorrow with our pick for overall 2008 Game of the Year. Check back to find out who wins!

Haze got Disappointment and Worst game, harsh. Luckily I didn’t touch it, haha.
You forgot about Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. It too came from the increasingly aptly named studio Gamecock, and blew some serious chunks.
Turning Point was pretty bad, but for us, Haze, Deadliest Catch, and Legendary just seemed way way too bad. We didn’t want to crap on one developer too much…
