We’re all through the consoles, but before we get to the overall game of the year, why not tell you what we think sucked in 2008? We’ll kick it off today with our biggest disappointment and finish up tomorrow with our pick for worst game of of the year. Let’s get right to it.
The runner up disappointing game for 2008 is Too Human. While the game played fairly well, the confusing story, semi-odd controls, plentiful bugs, and over-hype with the game’s abnormally long development cycle are all strikes against Silicon Knight’s action RPG. People were expecting greatness and Too Human just didn’t live up the hype.
Speaking of hype, our pick for the Biggest Disappointment of 2008 is Haze from Free Radical. The PS3 shooter was supposed to be a Halo killer and the end-all-be-all for console shooters. While the drop-in-drop-out four player co-op was good, the gameplay and story were fairly boring and the multiplayer just wasn’t very fun. Again, high expectations lead to sad gamers.
Stay tuned for tomorrow when we let loose our worst game of 2008!

This one is definitely dead on.
