Hello Crash, what are you doing on my Xbox 360? Are you lost, do you need someone to play with you? No problem, I have fond memories of you from my days on the PS1, so let’s give it a whirl for old times sake.
Crash Bandicoot typically has a funny plot with a whacky marsupial as your main character, which you need to jump and smash things in order to save the day, all culminating in a good time. This title sounds like it may be more of the same just add in some mutants, which also sound pretty cool right? Wow was I wrong!

Dr. Neo Cortex is up to no good again as per the usual and Crash needs to fix things, that is the CliffsNotes version of the plot. The plot really is forgettable and unimportant and we should focus on the mutants and gameplay. There is a co-op portion of the game, which typically would make me happy and add to a title, but in this case it actually works against the game. The co-op portion is terrible, two players are on screen for a bit until one starts to run in one direction and the other is lost. The camera in the co-op is unforgivable and really hinders the single player game as well. Whoever worked on the camera in this game should be hung by their toes and beaten.
The mutants, which you ride and use to destroy enemies and boxes, are the best part of the game. Unfortunately they aren’t enough to combat repetitive stages and camera angles from Hades. The game takes you from one portion of a map to face off against a boss and then you are forced to back track through the same stage. This gets tiring very quickly and if you try to play in co-op, this is a chore as one of you will inevitably be lost off camera and will have to come back into the action later.

The camera and back and forth repetition killed this gaming experience for me. I have to say that this is probably one of the lowest games I have ever rated. Being a fan of the original Crash Bandicoot games, I am saddened by this pitiful attempt of a platformer. Please stay away from this title at any cost, even as a rental this is too expensive.
Overall: 4 out of 10
