I remember the good times I had playing Power Pete, Nanosaur, Bugdom and the rest of the bundled Pangea titles on my Mac so it’s great to see Pangea Software still making strides in the gaming business. Pangea Software has now sold over 1 million copies via download through the App Store of their various games since the July launch of the App Store. Most of the games they have for sale through the App Store are ports of some of their best titles that were previously only available on Macs, just reworked to be fully utilized on the iPhone/iPod touch.
This is quite a feat. I am certain we will start seeing more small developers release large sales numbers by years end. The great game sales at the App Store benefit everyone. Apple gets a slice of the pie (30% to be exact), the developers get their games out there through a cost effective medium and we as gamers get to see all sorts of great new games compete for our attention. Everyone wins as long as the quality of games doesn’t take a dive and the prices stay cheap. In the end it’s up to the gamers with their buying power to decide how this whole App Store thing turns out, keep it up folks.
