Spike TV’s sixth annual Video Game Awards will be broadcast live on December 14th from Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, California. GTA IV leads all nominees with a total of eight while Metal Gear Solid 4 earned seven and LittleBigPlanet along with Fallout 3 have earned six each. Don’t worry kids, Gears of War 2 has been nominated for game of the year but faces stiff competition.
There are a total of 26 awards up for grabs this year along with musical entertainment by 50 cent. The show will also include world premiere footage from various unnamed games. Just in case that isn’t enough to make you watch this year’s show, there are quite a few major celebrities that have an opportunity to win an award for the category “big name in the game”. Whether or not they are physically present to accept the award remains to be seen.

The ending of Fallout 3 killed the game for me
. The rest of it is amazing though.

When I make my GOTY decisions they are usually not multiplayer games for some reason even though I spend much more time playing games like COD. Last year my GOTY was Bioshock and my runner up was probably Mass Effect.
This year when I first started up GTAIV I thought that would be my GOTY but halfway through the game it got a little repetitive in my opinion. I think that this year my GOTY will probably be Fallout 3 just because I never got bored with the game once and every quest was original in my opinion.
My MP GOTY is probably COD4 if that still qualifies (there really hasn’t been anything else MP wise that has caught my attention).
