QQ and buy a larger HDD. People are never pleased but this seems like an easily avoidable issue by installing a larger drive

Stop crying and upgrade your HDD. It doesn't void your warranty, it's cheap to do and you are likely to have some performance gain if you go with a 7200 rpm. It is dirt cheap at 80 $ !

yup agrees with the post from bludie, It's cheap to upgrade to a 320gb(less then USD100) compared to the people who are doing the same on a XB...(paying the same for less and even risking data corruption...WTH) I had filled up my 40gb from all the demos, I'm trying out... It's fun... I admit it.

So those people on the XB are so going to suffer when they have to install the full game onto their puny drive... which will cost them the same or even more...

Taking that into consideration... your rant is soo not going to be important...

It's called maintenance, do some! I have a 60 gig ps3, have had it pretty much since launch (i did manage to break the first one i had, due to a power failure corrupting my HD) and I end up deleting things all the time. Siren was a huge game, and if you weren't playing it, free's up a bit of space. If you aren't playing other games, like MGS4, delete its data to, you wont loose your saves SONY thought it through and put the saves in a different folder for a reason. Is it a little annoying, yes, but it could be a lot worse. You could have bought a 360 arcade, to find out you need a hard drive to use the NXE which, guess what, LETS YOU INSTALL YOUR GAMES TO THE HARD DRIVE. Obviously Sony screwed up so much, Microsoft is following suit. There are plenty of cheap and efficient issues to fix storage problems on the PS3, and installing a new hard drive is easy peasy, this really shouldn't be that big of an issue.

I meant: 150% profit margin. It's likely much more like 200%
I meant: I'm sure M$ gets much better pricing.

Anyone know a simple way of upgrading the 360 HDD? Cloning work? I thought I read it didn't.

Doesn't the PS3 use a 2.5" SATA drive as well? Just easier to upgrade.

Game installation is not a problem.

Games DO NOT take 25 minutes to install.

I step out for a cigarette, and the game is typically done, no more than ten minutes in EXTREME cases.

The benefits far outweigh the negatives, that's why Microsoft has adopted the system for their new XBOX Experience. It's quite beneficial to have data streamed from the drive - better for your hardware in the long run, no denying that...

Delete something you aren't playing at the moment. Or buy a new hard drive. Either way, please stop weakly attempting to gain notoriety by ranting about BS issues that have been beaten TO DEATH, OVER, and OVER AGAIN.

Please, stop linking to irrelevant SHIT like this on N4G! I'll send you a dollar!

I see this being the same issue with the XBOX 360 and NXE offering this feature. Only problem is, ~$140-150 MSRP for the 120GB HDD kit ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874103062 ), even though a person can pick up a 120GBf for ~$50-60 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148214 ) or even a real nice 250GB 7,200RPM model for only $75-80 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148364 ). I understand that Microsft is a company and out to make $$$ but 150% profit margin seems a bit ridiculous. I'm ME gets much better pricing at the bulk they purchase.

I knew this was going to happen. If you look through my older posts I called that this was going to be the outcome and the whole "Ooo I have 40GB of space" would turn out to be not as epic as it sounded.
