We all know by now that Nintendo can print money. Whatever it is you want to attribute all of their sales to, whether it be appealing to the masses or just people loving their waggle, Nintendo obviously has something figured out. Nintendo has announced their shipment numbers and boy are they big.
The Nintendo DS has finally outdone it’s older sibling by shipping 84.33 million units compared to the Game Boy Advance’s 81.36 units shipped in it’s lifetime. We know Nintendo stated that they weren’t meant to be direct competitors but it’s always fun to beat up on your older brother. Shipments of DS software have reached 454.63 million units worldwide.
The Wii has now shipped 34.55 million units along with 229.85 million software titles shipped. Even with most hard core gamers bashing the little white machine that could, the Wii continues to outsell the rest of the industry by double the units. You can scream from the hillsides all you want but it looks like the Wii is here to stay no matter what anyone says.
