EA Loses More Money

We have more sad news on the job front just in time for the holidays, EA is bleeding money and some employees will be losing their jobs.  EA’s financial results for the quarter were not pretty, they have lost 310 million dollars, up from the 195 million dollars lost in the same quarter of last year.

The really sad part of the news is that EA needs to cut costs somewhere and of course that means cutting jobs.  They intend to cut 6 percent of their staff which equals about 600 hard working folks. EA has stated that cutting these positions, among other things, could save the company up to 50 million dollars a year.

I suppose EA could stop paying their higher-ups ridiculous amounts of money, make a few more great original games and spend less on the advertising of sub-par games, but cutting jobs is probably the best way to go.

  1. Yeah…It is happening a lot these days. Of course, those making the millions never seem to give up a million or two ‘bones’ to spread a few thousand around to those doing the actual work. So is business. :( Fun with Dick and Jane was on, it’s kind of like that. :D
