Thats right looks like everyone’s very much anticipated RTS, Starcraft II, is being announced as a trilogy! The game will be broken into three separate campaigns for each race and will be named the following:
Wings of Liberty - Terrans
Heart of the Swarm - Zerg
Legacy of the Void - Protoss
So it looks like if you really want to enjoy the entire scope of Starcraft II you need to purchase three games instead of one. Each will be a stand alone single player game that will have special meta games for each specific race.
The reasoning behind the trilogy aspect according to the Blizzard producers is in order to get more from each single player campaign and not have to skimp on the options, but what does it mean to us as gamers? If you only enjoy playing one of the races then you are in luck but if your like me and like to experiment with the different strategies of all three races it means you will need to purchase three games. So Starcraft II now will cost you $150?!
How do you feel about the trilogy?

Write a Comment»i don’t know enough details to decide if this is good or bad. I trust blizzard has a really good reason (other than raping our wallet). If this means triple the content and play, cool… but, the strong suit of SC and WC3 were the custom Bnet maps anyway which we could have access to from perhaps just getting 1 of the titles vs getting all 3. Also, depending on how the games are set up for anti-pirating, there may be opportunities to purchase one campaign and swap the others with friends since you likely wouldn’t have to be logged onto Bnet to do single-player campaign game-play. But perhaps multi-player campaign play will be introduced. I just don’t know. So before I get angry at paying for 3 games, I want to know more.
Yeah, I must know more. Will each really cost $50? o.0
I like all three races and even if you’re good with one race, you know it’s fun to play with the other. And you need to play each race to know their weaknesses and whatnot.
I am a huge fan of blizzard and their Ip’s but hearing this makes me a bit skeptical. The only good thing is that most people do not play SC for the single player anyway, as long as when I buy my Protoss version the multiplayer is wide open I will survive, but if I have to buy 3 discs to play online, then I will be pissed
