Most of you out there might look at me funny for saying that I enjoy Qore and think it’s worth the money. I bought the yearly subscription shortly after it was made available on the PlayStation Store. I don’t look at is paying for demos or other videos, it’s more of a digital magazine. I get it, it’s worth it to me. But here’s part two of things going wrong for me last night that resulted in something else broken.
The implementation of downloading new episodes for your annual subscription is one of the biggest clusterfucks I’ve seen in a while. Sony hasn’t done a good job of making things easy with the PlayStation Store downloads (required installs, extra prompts, etc.). Here’s another way they’ve botched things up.
If you buy a yearly subscription to Qore, all new episodes must be downloaded from the View Downloads list in the PlayStation Store. You can’t just navigate to the item normally and download the new monthly version. This month, Episode 5, was way down at number 59 in my download list. You have to scroll back to your original Qore subscription purchase to find all of the episodes. I brought this issue up directly to Sony when Episode 2 was released, but was told it would be addressed. Well, it hasn’t. Considering all demos, add-ons, paid downloads, and various other content gets added to this download list, it’s perfectly feasible to see myself having to scroll to number 150 or 200 towards the end of my one year subscription to download new Episodes. I will not be a happy camper.
I’m not crapping on Sony or the PS3 here. I love my PS3 and use it daily. But why do they refuse to make things user friendly? If I pay for a yearly subscription to a service on the PSN, you’d think they would want to make me happy by giving me an halfway easy way to get the content I paid for. Nope.
After my Spore debacle earlier, this didn’t end up well. My DualShock 3 went flying across the room and has a few things loose inside now. Guess that’s going to have to get replaced. Maybe game developers and console manufactures can step their game up so I don’t get so frustrated that I need to break things.

Write a Comment»I already have near 200 items in my DL history and I bought the annual when it first released. It’s not that big a deal. If they come out with a better way that’s great but your problem lies elsewhere as detailed by your inability to control your temper. Really telling when a request is made for developers and console manufacturers to design and build solely for helping you with your self control.
Grow up and get a life. Or get anger management! LOL I would hate for you to face a real problem in life.
