The new Street Fighter IV cover art has been unleashed onto the world and gamers profess… “whatever!” This game has such a huge and loyal fan base that the cover art could have been a steaming pile of poo and people would still flock in droves to the stores to purchase it. Some are actually complaining that they do not like the art on the cover, and to them I say “Silence! Chun Li flexing her muscles at you is all you need and all you will get or you will not play the game. So it is written so it shall be done.”
Let’s explore some other potential artwork for the cover. My thought would have been a tribute to the original classic Street Fighter II and have the opening scene of that game on the cover where the generic blonde guy clocks the other dark haired guy.
What do you think, would you liked to have seen something different on the cover art? Or is it fine the way it is?

Write a Comment»LAME…..I know that it doesn’t matter what the cover art looks like, but If it really didn’t matter they could just ship it out in a brown paper cover like some racy porn ordered off the interweb. I really hope they change this. Not take 12 people off the development team and work on the cover design kinda want, but maybe just like 1 or 2. This cover is almost as disappointing and lame as the other part IV fighter released 2 months back (yes SoulCalibur IV). They need a cover that showcases what the game is about AKA retro revitalized. They need an action scene like on the cover of SF2. It seems to be the style now days to have cover art where the stars of the game pose. This is very boring. Okay. I’m done with my rant.

I don’t mind the cover THAT much, but if they had printable covers that would even better, but knowing the game it’s going to sell regardless. Srsly, who never heard of Street Fighter?!
Ryu makes sense, since he’s pretty much the Street Fighter protagonist. Both covers look pretty good.
Ryu looks a bit constipated and his arm is bigger than his head but I can care less about the covers, just give me the game already!!!
I second the notion of printable covers. I want Guile.
