Have you ever watched Starship Troopers and though “Damn I want to fight giant bugs?” You’re chance is coming on the PSN this Fall. Savage Moon will meld together Starship Troopers style alien bugs with tower defense gameplay.
To defend the mines, you start off with machine gun towers and can expand your arsenal to include wide range of weaponry and heavy artillery. This is where your strategizing skills come into play. It’s up to you when to upgrade, add new towers, or save your money, and your strategies will make the difference between escaping unscathed and watching the mines go up in flames. You have to place the tower defenses in areas where they will be most effective in killing the different kinds of Insectocytes before they make it to the mining facilities. And as you kill the Insectocytes, you earn valuable points that you can use to upgrade the size and firepower of your defenses, and to develop new weapons and technologies.
I’m a big fan of tower defense, from games like Desktop Tower Defense to PixelJunk Monsters. Savage Moon looks to add nicely to the aresenal and will most likely take up a lot of my gaming time this Fall. That is when I’m not playing Resistance 2, Gears of War 2, Rock Band 2, and all kinds of other good stuff.

Write a Comment»The graphics look like crap, even by downloaded game standards, but the premise sounds fun if it turns out to be like starship troopers. We better get a Casper Van Dien cameo.
as long as the tower defense game play is up to par, i don’t mind the graphics being terrible. example, desktop tower defense, except that that game was not balanced correctly and you have to cheat to win. bouncing creep waves is for the lose.
