Are you thinking of grabbing Fable II pretty soon? Well it is no surprise to most that Fable II released a series of mini Pub Games to help promote the title before launch and give gamers an opportunity to build up some cash before even getting their hands on the game. Looks like there is a bit of a bug in the Pub games right now that allows players to become virtually rich very fast by allowing you to bet the minimum but cash in the maximum. This needs to be patched soon or you will have a bunch of rich Fable players even before the game launches.
The game in question is the Fortune’s Tower card game, and all you need to do is bet the lowest amount before you deal cards (15 chips), and then immediately hit the left bumper after you select “Deal.” This will max out the bet, but the only amount taken out of your pot is the initial 15.
I’ve been able to replicate this in all of the Fortune’s Tower games I’ve played — you eventually unlock new tables that allow higher bets — as well as in the tournament mode. And yes, I’m racking up quite a bit of gold, thank you.

Write a Comment»Man that sucks, I wonder how they’re gonna separate the cheaters and the non cheaters with and make everything balanced.
Not sure, but the economy is already screwed. People will be able to afford all the best gear from the jump. Luckily it isnt an MMORPG then it would be really screwed up. Just imagine somehting like this happening in WoW or AoC.
The joke’s on us when it turns out they did this on purpose and banish your Fable II character from certain things for being a cheater! Think about it…

[...] We had brought you news a while back about an exploit that many gamers were using with the Fable II …, well it seems that Peter Molyneux was well aware of the exploit. The exploit was put in the game on purpose by the folks at Lionhead Studios and Peter decided he wanted to leave it in there as a sort of social project. Peter supposedly has something in store for all those players that decided to take the easy rode to riches and sucker the AI in the Pub Games, but has not specified just yet what he will be doing to these players.
