Bungie president Harold Ryan has come out during an interview with Eurogamer and said that when Xbox boss Don Mattrick told him that his studio’s latest Halo product would not be shown at E3, he was not amused or “laughing”.
Harold Ryan said quote:
I certainly didn’t agree with the decision to delay our news until sometime after E3.
Bungie is always concerned first and foremost with our fans. Whenever we are prevented from exceeding their positive expectations it is not a laughing matter.
This is in response to Don Mattrick telling Eurogamer that Harold “laughed” when he was told his company would not present at the conference.
Seems like no love loss between these two right now, but Harold did say that the Halo product would be announced “another time of the year” that would “create an opportunity where people can interact with it.”
The last quote I think is a stab at E3 itself. Bungie knows that the average gamer is not present at E3 and looks to be setting its eye on another conference. My best guess would be Leipzig, what do you think?
I think the omission of Bungie at the E3 conference was a bit of a shock and a bad move from Don Mattrick.
