FFXIII Comes to the Xbox 360 & details

FFXIII

Square Enix just announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be coming to the Xbox 360 and the Microsoft camp. The Microsoft big wig was the first to also add that this is one of the many Sony PlayStation franchises that have transitioned to the Xbox 360, from Guitar Hero to Grand Theft Auto and now Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy fans and Xbox fans can now rejoice as they join forces, everyone tries to forget about FFXI and that poor excuse for an MMORPG.

::UPDATE:: Let me add that this is quite a kick in the shins to Sony. A lot of questions do come to mind though that Square is not ready to answer. How many discs will the Xbox 360 version ship with? Will there be any exclusive DLC on the PS3 BluRay version or 360? For now both versions of the game are identical.

We do know that FFXIII will drop in Japan first and then come to Europe and North America. An Xbox 360 version for Japan does not seem to be in the cards at this time, looks like they will depend on Sony to handle their sales in Japan. Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

This is epic and one of the biggest news from MS’s conference. Damn MS stole Final Fantasy from Sony! Is it just me or has Square Enix and MS been really close lately.. Lol…

This is huge! It came right at the end of the conference and the Square Enix guy announced it and ran away. LOL

Square Enix is having another press conference right now. My guess is to discuss the bomb they just dropped on everyone!

Epic surprise was Square putting FFVII on the Playstation, essentially shitting in every Nintendo fanboy’s cereal. Square doing this a second time is no surprise at all.

I’m half shocked at this one. While it’s a huge blow to Sony fanboys, how much will it ultimately affect things? By the time FF13 comes out, I think people that would have bought a PS3 just for the game will have made a choice on their current-gen console. I think it’s great for gamers to get this available everywhere.

More interesting is that Japan will not get a 360 version. Pretty much the Square mindframe is to have SOny sell in Japan and MS sell in the North America and Europe.

Wow, FF13 is going to suck now. Its not going to be anything they said the game was going to be. It won’t be a graphic powerhouse game no more since its going on DVD and not blu ray no more. FF13 will suck now. It won’t break any boundaries no more. The reason reason for Blu ray for making game be just like playng a movie. DVD can’t do that in games. Xbox just killed the potential of FF13. Thank MS, you jerks. I lost interest in game now.

If PS3 is the sales leader in Japan, that would explain not wasting their time making it for 360 in Japanese. Anyone know if Blue Dragon sold well there?
