E3 2008 Predictions – Sony

Loot Ninja PS3 Theme

Last, but certainly not least is Sony, whose press conference is Tuesday afternoon. Check out our thoughts and just what might happen.

Matt – We know the video store is coming, and I’m betting that we be prominently shown. We’ll also see more of Home and hopefully get a concrete date when we can expect to see it on our consoles. This year will most likely be all about games for Sony as they need to keep their string of exclusive AAA titles up. Expect to see God of War 3, a new Ratchet and Clank game, a sequel to Uncharted, and possibly some new franchises introduced. I’m also hoping for more integration with the PSP and PS3.

Al – Sony will talk about HOME, Little Big Planet and Gran Turismo. I dont think they have anything left in the tank right now after the 2.40 update. I doubt there will be any new SKU’s for the PSP but they may talk more about the Skype possibilities on your PSP and possibly a mobile phone type device to play video games.

Steve – God of War 3 needs to make an appearance. This could be a show stealer. Probably a Drake’s Fortune sequel, Final Fantasy, and Gran Turisimo 5. I’m guessing a new PSP, another PS3, and some updates on Home and maybe a final release date. Also a price drop will be announced I think.

Did our magic 8-ball do the trick? Check back Tuesday to find out…

I think they’ll be teasing Home the whole time and give us nothing worth while. Yeah, I’m a cynic.

What’s wrong with Skype? It’s a pretty good application imo, I even used it for gaming once. I hear there’s a rumor of a PSP phone, but that’s been on the down low for a while.

Isn’t Skype already on the PSP?
