With the latest Playstation 3 firmware now available, I see a lot of questions regarding how it effects Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
At this time, we have no plans to patch in Trophy support for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the PS3. Much like DualShock rumble addition to the PS3, the support for these new features have come much to late for us to add it to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare due to our current production schedule.
All I can say is this sucks, I have an un-opened copy of COD 4 for my PS3 just sitting and waiting for trophies, but it looks like that dream is gone. COD 4 gets no rumble or trophy support, this is just horrible. This also is a sign of things to come, something tells me that we will see many other game companies use the same lame excuse and trophies will only become available for new games.
This is a big blow to the new trophy system for PS3.

Write a Comment»Sucks, but what are you going to do. I’m more upset the game hasn’t and won’t get DualShock 3 support. It’s not that hard to patch in rumble, especially since it’s coded for the 360 version already.
I don’t like the achievements in CoD4 on the 360, so I’m not that upset we don’t get them on the PS3. Hopefully all future games will have them. Old games, meh, whatever.
That kinda sucks.
Especially with a title this popular.

I’m not even going to say anything.
I honestly don’t understand why everyone fully expects developers to stop what they’re doing and create trophies for every PS3 game that’s already been released. It’s a new feature, old games don’t support it.
Ultimately, how does it really hurt you by developers working on new projects instead of adding trophies to old games? Me, I don’t care. If they do, cool. If they don’t, whatever, It’s not like trophies are going to make me go play games that I don’t have the desire to play again anyway.
But this game is a killer shooter and is going to be around for a while. But it’s mostly gonna be around for a while used by PC gamers, so no biggy really.
I only care because adding trophies to existing titles is like giving the consumer something extra for free.

Oh never mind I just looked through the posts and saw that you guys each wrote one. I think something to look into would be making it so that we can know who writes what editorials before we click on them so I don’t get confused like that 0_0.
