It's a new feature, old games don't support it. Ultimately, how does it really hurt you by developers working on new projects instead of adding trophies to old games? Me, I don't care. If they do, cool. If they don't, whatever, It's not like trophies are going to make me go play games that I don't have the desire to play again anyway.
