Well, I can attest to the fact that MS updates have bricked consoles. Both mine and two friends. 360's are fragile beasts. And MS releases shitty software all the time. Do we need to bring up Windows ME?

I hear what you was saying. :) I was just being the messenger. They really need to get their shit together tho. If this where Microsoft the internet would implode. One of the benefits I guess of M$ being a software company first and foremost is shit like this don't happen that much. I'm not saying they never release shitty software, but they don't break their own products.

More from Joystiq:

"Joystiq contacted SCEA for comment on the situation as was told by PR director Patrick Seybold that they are aware of the message thread and that they are "looking into it right now and will work with those customers directly to address any issues they may be experiencing." This comment came before the update was removed from Sony's servers. We're seeking further comment and will update as we receive it."

@Matt Banks

"when’s the last time any company released an update and people didn’t report bricking?"

How about Sony, so unsure they pulled it themselves. Huh? Just internet chatter you say?

Yeah, I read that on Kotaku, damn this time there's really no pattern since it's usually a 40GB or 60GB with a problem. I predict a press release and with or without a solution within hours.
