Burnout Paradise Getting Retroactive Trophies for PS3

Burnout Paradise PS3 Timed Challenge Screen

That’s right, you won’t have to start over in Burnout Paradise to earn those Trophies. Announced by Criterion, the game will get an update “soon” to add Trophy support. This will not be part of the upcoming Codename: Cagney update coming on July 10th. No word on an exact time for this new patch, but I’d expect shortly after Cagney.

The reason Burnout Paradise will be able to issue Trophies retroactively is because the game save is tied to your PSN ID. Unlike most PS3 titles, you can’t share game saves with Burnout, which is why Criterion is able to go back and check your save for what you’re accomplished. I wouldn’t expect this feature in many other games. Hopefully we start hearing about what games will get Trophies later this week. I’d love to see games like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank Future, and SingStar get Trophy support really soon.

This is old news. Burnout Paradise isnt retroactive. Other sites are talking about how its a bummer to start a new file and play the game all over again.
