As we draw closer to E3, the price drop rumors are everywhere. The word on the street is that there will be a discontinuing of the 20GB Xbox 360 and it will be replaced by a 60GB model. A 20GB HDD is becoming useless with all the movements to DLC, Movies, Songs, etc.
“At E3 Microsoft will make an official announcement that we are dropping the 20GB pro console to $299… As we launch the 60GB SKU throughout July, the 20GB SKU will DISCONTINUE. You will see the new SKU on your 7/1 price list,”
I wonder if they will sell a 60GB standalone HDD. My original launch 20GB is basically full and I need to delete things to make room for demos. We have to assume the price will remain at $299.99 due to the price MS charges for storage.

Write a Comment»Not surprised. with the changes Sony is making M$ has to offer more content and the only way to deliver that, people need the memory and the 20GB is looking like the little guy this time around. As the competition boils M$ would likely make a price drop when its possible.
I don’t think a 60-gig is enough. They should make a case with an upgradable/removable hdd.
Put me down for one.
I’m not surprised if they”ll make a removable case, M$ is really on Sony’s tail right now and a removable case would be a great idea, for the 360.
Wonder how much a standalone 60gb drive is going to cost. 20gb = $100, 120gb = $180 (both are a rip off). I’m betting like $125, which is more than I paid for my 250gb 2.5″ SATA drive in my PS3
Not to mention it’s pretty easy to install the hard drive for the PS3. So if MS plans on implementing the ability to change hard drives the least they can do is make it least complicated.
@Matt, exactly why they should make an upgradable enclosure.
