You know that cool splash screen at Blizzard’s site we told you about? They announced today what the deal is: Diablo 3. Ok, go clean up your pants, I know they’re soiled. Yes, that’s right, Diablo is making a comeback and will be released simultaneously for Mac and PC. Hells yes, I’m rocking this on my Mac!
Check out the debut trailer and wait patiently until this one gets released. I’m betting late 2009 or maybe even 2010.

::Shakes fists at Blizzard:: Damn you for making me have to go buy a new computer for this and SC2!!!
I came, I saw, I came again.
I been had to make a new rig, but seeing that SC2 and D3 is coming out I’m gonna make sure my tower is gonna be real smooth and prepared for any game
@Al
Once u go mac u never go back but D3 is soooooooo worth it!!!
for a fairly straight forward control scheme, whats keeps this from coming to 360 and PS3? The original Diablo came out on PS1. I only played it on computer, but did anyone find it to work well on PS? What would stop it from working on Live or PSN?
@keith - I don’t know if there’s anything specifically stopping it, other than Blizzard wanting to perfect the game on PC first and foremost. I’m sure if someone wanted to use their development resources, the game could definitely come out on PS3 and 360. I think the hardest thing, at least for 360, is going to be translating the point and click style to a controller. You also have a lot of things mapped to the keyboard. The PS3 supports mouse and keyboard controls for gaming, so that might alleviate that situation, but who knows.
I have my nephew pricing up parts for my new PC right now.
I read somewhere that they hinted that there may be a 360 version, but their main focus is the PC.
Diablo didn’t play too well on the PS, I don’t think they should bother trying again, unless they do it for PS3 and require KB/Mouse, in which case, just leave it on the PC.
The specs of the PS3 is equivalent to a PC. And they probably don’t need to water much of the requirements of the PC for the PS3.
Did I mention you don’t need DX10?
