The PSN is going to be taken down today from 8am - 2pm PT. That’s 11am - 5pm ET for those keeping score. This is some scheduled maintenance, most likely paving the way for firmware v2.40 that’s supposed to hit a PS3 near you fairly soon.

During the downtime, you won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store or play any games online. Friends list, voice chat, etc. will all be down too, but you probably guessed that one, didn’t you?

Sony hasn’t made any announcements yet about when v2.40 will hit, but I’d expect it in the next couple weeks, probably before E3. I have a feeling there’s other things in store duing that keynote…
