According to a forum poster over at MaxConsole, there’s apparently some issue installing Metal Gear Online to the hard drive of the 60GB PS3. I have the 60GB and I didn’t have any issue whatsoever, so take this with a grain of salt.
I called up Konami, and they said that this is a known issue with the 60GB PS3 and they are currently in an information gathering stage. Their advice was to either wait for a fix from them or return the game and try and get a working copy.
We’ve tried to reach Konami for comment, but requests were not returned by press time. Are you having any trouble with MGS4? My guess is no.

I haven’t had an issue on my 60 gig
Thats BS i have a 40gb Ps3 with stock hdd and im having the same problem.
First time I’m hearing this,I’m sure they have a Patch around the corner.
Well,hopefully they have one lol
I heard similar issues about GTA IV with the 60-gig and mine works fine. I haven’t tried MGS yet though.
Yes!!!
don’t take this with a grain of salt!
there is a floor!
i have a 60gb ps3, guess what.. no metal gear online for me.
what happens is when you try to select metal gear online from the ingame menu it goes to a black screen, then crashes and goes back to the XMB.
driving me nuts!!
contacted konami.. no reply!
called playstation they said “gee,.. we havent heard of this one”.. lies, just do a search for ps3 60gb mgs brick and see the results.
apparently it could have been a batch of bad disks, but i’ve heard of people swaping them out and still having probs.
all my other games work fine, it may just be a certain rev 60gb which has the prob,.. but it so “does” exsist!
