Word around the water cooler is suggesting that Microsoft has made a very large cash offer to Capcom to make Resident Evil 5 a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. How much money and how long the exclusivity will last is unknown.
Something like this honestly wouldn’t surprise me. We all know Microsoft dropped $50 million on Rockstar for the exclusive GTA4 DLC which hasn’t materialized yet. Just how big do they thing RE5 is going to be? Is it worth that much cash to secure it for the 360 for a couple months? Microsoft has some deep pockets. We’ll see what happens when E3 rolls around next month.

I don’t really see how this will help strategically, it’ll eventually be released on the PS3 which everybody knows, so people who owns both the 360 and PS3 would rather wait until it comes out on the PS3. During that time period MS wouldn’t really sell much copies drastically. I’m not a business expert, but that’s my opinion lol.
@EHT – That seemed like a SUPER fanboy comment to me. Why if you owned the 360 and PS3 would you WAIT a few months to buy a version for the PS3? Wouldn’t it make more sense to play the game first instead of having to wait?
I think that M$ has already shown that paying for exclusivity has worked in a way. I’m not sure how many GTAIV users were persuaded to buy the 360 version because of the DLC but it could have had an impact.
Well w/e hurray for M$’s deep pockets!
Well you see if you look at the lot of games that’s going to be released for the PS3 and 360 this year and you happen to own both systems I think there’s enough games to hold you out until the PS3 version comes out.
My bad if I looked like a Sony fan boy, I use to own a 360. I give all companies equal credit and it’s good to joke around in a fanboyish way at times to acknowledge their flaws instead of being in denial.
