Man Buys Xbox 360 Filled with Books

Series of Unfortunate Events

How much does this suck? This guy in Houston bought an Xbox 360/GTA IV Bundle from Target.  He opens the box and everything seems to be in order. He then notices that the entire console has no internal computer. No disc drive, no motherboard, not a single electronic part. Someone had filled the console with copies of “A Series of Unfortunate Events”, a creepy children’s story that was made into a shit movie a few years ago. No word if the guy got a refund, though I see no reason why not. These instances are far too frequent. They need to seal these consoles boxes much better. This is one of those moments where its funny because its not you. Extra ass-chapping because the person who did it had a dry sense of humor with the chosen contents.

Thanks to EHT for the news.

  1. It’s entirely too easy to scam retailers for this type of thing.

Omg the comments were hilarious and the choice of book to put in the console was too, kinda ironic though.

I’m guessing a lot of people will start trying this kind of thing by buying a console take the internal parts out, return the console empty, and then sell the parts online or something until retailers are aware of this.

Expect more awesome news from me :)

Poor guy, reminds me of the Xbox 360 ‘Walmart scam’,where people return busted and gutted Xboxs and such.

Aren’t they supposed to check the system before they take it back for return? I mean when I brought my 360 under warrenty they almost didn’t replace it because I had a disk read error (luckily one of the employees at the counter had the same problem as me so I didn’t have to stand there 1hr till a error happened)

I think people don’t do this to the PS3 because it requires more effort and too risky, but then again the clerk can’t see if its gutted or not since the PS3 can’t be seen inside since its not as visible.

  7. this is just too funny. I feel bad for the guy, but the man who did this has quite the sense of humor. its a perfect touch to the crime

wait, wtf does he plan to do with the guts anyway?

Maybe he knows how to wire two 360’s together and make a 720?
