MGS4 Theatrical Trailer

Yeah, this game has a lot of cutscenes. But adding the voice from all the movie previews takes anything to the next level. How do I make my voice sound like this?

Game looks terrific. June 12th can’t come soon enough…

It kinda bothers me that the game’s cutscenes makes up over half of the game content and that the game has several minute installs before each act because of said cutscenes. This was confirmed in the eurogamer review. Something Konami has actually been trying to keep quit about according to EGM who refused to publish the review until Konami’s restriction on what they can say embargo is up. (No mention of installs or cutscene length, among others) The fact that even such an embargo is needed throws up some red flags. I’m sure what’s in there to actually play will be great….but how great?

I hate those theatrical voices they use to make things look epic now the voice is too overrated, nonetheless MGS4 is looking f’ing top notched. If good games like MGS4 keep being made we may be in the golden age again.

Some more light on the subject:

“In the course of a larger interview with X-Play, MTV’s Multiplayer editor Stephen Totilo said that after he posted the original news, other sources contacted him and reiterated the extent of the limitations.

“I’ve had people read me the agreement… They’ve said don’t talk about the number of cutscenes or how long they are. Don’t talk about the mandatory installation on the PS3 or how big it is,” Totilo said.

As of yet, X-Play hasn’t heard back from Konami. The game comes out on June 12th for the PS3.

If you want to catch all of Totilo’s interview, do not miss X-Play, tonight at 8PM ET!”

I’m intrested enough to *tune in (*suffer threw) and find out what the deal is. If I don’t make it back and become a G4 fanboy. You guys have permission to kick my ass. :)

I knew they couldn’t talk about cut scenes or install time, but I didn’t know EGM refused damn. It probably wouldn’t affect the sales drastically anyways I almost creamed myself when I saw the trailers and game play. Not to mention being able to play Altaïr.

all of the metal gear games are fairly intensive in dialog and cut scenes. The later versions are known for playing more like a movie than a game. One of the reasons the franchise is so successful is because of the excellent gameplay that pushes to new levels, good graphics, amazing (and relevant to some) storyline and effectively maintaining a genre on its own. honorary mention to splinter cell.

that said i don’t think cut scene and install times will hurt sales, intended audience, fans, or the game.

not so bad, but still, from a sarcastic point of view, meh.
