PS3 Firmware v2.40 Rumors Galore

Loot Ninja PS3 Theme

Rumors are flying around the intarwebs about the upcoming v2.40 firmware update for the PS3. A few insiders are dating the update for June 10th, which makes sense given the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 on June 12th.

Apparently, in-game XMB isn’t the only thing we’ll be seeing in this update. Custom soundtracks and trophies are said to be included in the update. PSN profile pages are also rumored to be coming, making this one huge update for the PS3.

I can’t imagine so many features would be added and it would stay at v2.40. Seems too big for that numberical designation. I’d assume 2.5 or even 3.0 when it gets released. All signs do point to June, so I’d assume we’re going to get official word from Sony this week. We’ll keep you posted.

The sooner in-game XMB comes the more pressure on MS.

And I agree with Summon the Red&Black theme is too sick. Make a banner like that then boom!
