Facebreaker character Kiriko

A new Facebreaker character has been announced and it looks like EA is catering to their female gamers for this one, enter Kiriko, a bubbly boxer that states “wicked! I can’t feel my face”. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, the addition of the female boxer just solidifies the fact that this game is a pure arcade title, no realism to see here folks.

The more gameplay I see of Facebreaker the less it looks like a boxing game and the more it looks like a cheesy fighting game. The action is too far over the top, you can see Kiriko drop kick a guy in this clip, last time I checked this isn’t allowed in boxing? What do you guys think?

Well it’s for the Wii. /Ends bashing on Wii. Who knows this may be a good arcade style boxing game, I can’t believe the people who made Fight Night is switching it up :[.

After posting my comment saying it may be a good arcade style boxing game I come back with a quote from Wikipedia,

“FaceBreaker will have a “cartoony” artistic style (similar to Ready 2 Rumble Boxing) and allow players to literally break their opponents faces as the game will feature ‘real-time facial deformation’. The game is also set to utilize Digimask technology to allow players to capture their own image using peripherals the Xbox Live Vision Camera and the PlayStation Eye.”

Well I’m all in for this game it sounds interesting regardless of it’s “cartoony” figure.

ehh i dont know about this one, maybe its just me but the action seems a bit stale and ‘forced’ in a way, there weren’t crowds in any part of the fighting…

I suppose they’re going for an over the top ‘Ready 2 Rumble’ gameplay feel, hopefully they’ll get the right formula.
