This is a bit of an older clip but really shows just how big Starcraft was in Korea, this is footage form an actual match where the contestants were going head to head with a live audience watching their every move. The control and strategy that this guy uses is incredible and he wipes out his opponent in 5 minutes via an SCV rush coupled with marines in the background. Makes me want to play some old school Starcraft and definitely some Starcraft 2.

Write a Comment»That was pretty strategic if you know what I’m talking about, because no one rushes with SCVs and make it out victorious. I’d be surprise if I can last long enough in a Korean SC tourney. That guy playing Zerg looked like he was teching in a 1v1 which was really retarded. I miss the old SC days, but I’ve moved on to WC3 since then :). SC is still EXTREMELY popular over there in Korea it’s like a sport. I believe the first footage of SC2 was showed in Korea due to the large fan base. Hopefully my comp can handle the full experience of SC2 once it comes out.
Yeha those of you that may not have palyed SC wont appreciate this that much, but the level of control he uses to navigate the SCV’s and the marines is awesome, he blocks the marines form taking damage by putting SCVs in fornt, which can repair one another.
In Korea SC was like basketball, pretty awesome. SSC2 should be fantastic but I can almost guarantee i will needd a new rig to run it.
Was? It still IS huge. And it still IS a sport over there, and yes the SCII trailer was first shown at thier Blizz Con event in South Korea.
Poor Zerg
