That, my friend, sounds like prejudice to me. No one is saying to deny your heritage mi hijo, but what is right is right. You were born in the US not Cuba so to put it before a country of your birth is disrespectful. I am an American 1st with Costa Rican parent, a lesson BOTH my father and mother taught me. I know everything I need to know about Costa Rica but doesn’t change the fact that when I go to differnt countries, they see me for what I am.. An American..

Me, prejudice, nah you got me all wrong. In fact Costa Rica is one of my favorire LA countries. The problem is that I have no respect for people who are not proud of their heritage…”I am Amrican first”.

I am a Cuban American born in the US, I do not go around saying I am American first, making it more important than my own heritage. I am both! Trust me I have a lot to thank the US for, but I will never deny my heritage, my language, my traditions, my music, my people, its who makes me, ME.

BTW, in regards to uneducated, read the article and educate yourself before commenting. Its about one author commenting on what can be viewed as a racial remark and he/she was just asking for an opinion, it had nothing to do with being American, being White or being a Racist.

For someone against racism you sure have a lot of prejudice. I am not ashamed of my “costa rican” roots but the lifestyle, education and opportunities I’ve gotten has been given by the United States of America, NOT Costa Rica. My statement about being American/Costa Rican was to perhaps askew the possibility of being called a racist bigot with people like you, displaying your prejudice but apparently I was wrong as you have made clear the type of uneducated individual you are. This is keeps Racism and Prejudice alive. Prejudice jerks like you..

Maybe you don’t realize how much this link is getting passed around so everyone else on the internet can join us in ridiculing the article and the people agreeing with it. I certainly never would have come to this website for any other reason, nor have I bothered to venture off this page in particular.
