Video game bloggers are losers according to Glen Beck

Irishgirl23 and JasonCole

I say nay, Glen Beck is a tool. Sorry just had to get that off my chest. Ok let me rewind and let you know why Glen Beck from CNN is a tool, he recently had a show entitled “M for Money”, where he tries desperately to put a ‘this game isn’t for children spin on GTA IV’. Nothing new here to listen to other than the ramblings of someone who has never played the game and is trying to get ratings by sensationalizing a game that is an easy target for the media.

Things get really dicey when he breaks off on a tangent and spouts the following:

I will tell you that all these video gamers… they’re bloggers, as well as video gamers - they’re writing all kinds of stuff about me [that] I’m the enemy now of video gamers. I could care less about video games. Video game bloggers? They’re losers…

Hit the jump to see Mr. Beck in all his stammering glory.

Yes he resorts to calling all video game bloggers as losers and actually if you listen to it all video gamers as well, since his first statement is that video gamers are bloggers.

Here is a video clip of this fool speaking with Dr. Cheryl Olson, co-author of Grand Theft Childhood, you can see him try to get her to say some bad things about the game and how it affects kids but she won’t go there and instead says that most children don’t even find that type of content because of the sandbox nature of the game.

he has a point, an AO rating means anyone that’s 18 and up can buy it as opposed to an M rating where a 17 year old can buy it, what’s the difference? Oh, yeah, and video game bloggers are losers. Who talks with other middle aged men living in their parents basement about the games they play online?….losers, that’s who!

    @ John Doe:

Fuck you. I was trying to think of a quirky response here. Maybe use my Ivy League education with some good rhetoric, or maybe an allegory or something.

Truth is… this is a hobby. One that pays well outside of our high paid 9-5 jobs.

Don’t be bitter because Jane Doe sucked me off last week in my Land Rover.

    And oh yeah, fuck you.

@ John Doe - if you dislike video game blogs then why are you commenting on one? that sir would make you the worlds biggest tool, right up there with Mr. Beck.

i experience more in a day than Glen Beck has in his entire life. and sure ill play GTA for a couple hours out of that day, but i still have a better perspective of this planet and i know that many of the youths today playing GTA could run laps around Glen Becks dated education. Glen Beck is still learning how to check his email let alone play a video games.. feel sorry for this chump. he will live his life as a confused old man lacking the superior problem solving skills and intellect he may have been able to gain through playing videogames.

Oh my god like 80% of 12 - 14 year old children are watching porn online. Oh my god I guess we can just ignore that since it’s not a video game. Lol in addition the most “badass kids in my grade” (the ones who / drink / etc.) are the ones who actually don’t play games like GTA. Hmm…

Lol parents can’t see what’s there. Its called the “M” on the back and front of the box :)

@Al - Yea being in high school and everything I pretty much know what really goes on. First off all, there is a girl who is having sex in the janitors closet with a guy. Oh they both don’t even play video games. Then I know a few other kids who were just recently caught being idiots and drinking in a parking lot. Not one of them has a PS3 or a 360 and none of the play video games. It seems that all my friends that do play GTA are all pretty good students and may get into some trouble, but not as bad as some kids.

Parents really need to start listening to kids (even though it is near impossible). Seriously video games aren’t the cause for this at all. I don’t know what to pin it on though if there is anything to pin it on other than just being a human being.

I have to agree, the people I have played GTA IV with so far on LIVE have been H.S. students and they werent at all acting up, in fact they were talking about taking their SAT’s and the other one went to pick up his sister, sound like pretty decent guys if you ask me. I was just quietly taking in the online modes of the game.
