Well, we all saw this coming.

So by now you have all read that the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) had given in to pressure from local politicians and the local FOX News to pull the GTA IV ads from all the buses. So in an unsurprising move Take-Two Interactive is now suing the CTA for violating a $300,000 contract.

What on earth did they expect to happen? Seriously.

The official reason for the lawsuit is the claim by Take-Two that the removal of the ads violated its free speech and contractual rights. The contract was for running GTA IV posters on the sides of buses and display spaces throughout the Chicago transit system six weeks between April and June. The lawsuit is being handled in the Manhattan federal court - how fitting. Take-Two is seeking to have the ads reinstated and damages of no less than $300,000.

Now part of me can understand how some people may take offense to the ads - there has been a surge of violence in Chicago as of late. But to remove the ads - especially at the behest of FOX News - is just like saying that videogames cause violence. And that I do not believe.

And for the record FOX News can bite my ass. There’s not enough going on in the world right now? You have to create your own friggin’ news?! Is it some sort of mission they’re on to act like assholes once a month? Well mission accomplished. Well done. We’ll see you next month. Schmucks.
