That’s right folks, it’s sayonara time for the SIXAXIS. The much belittled launch controller of the PS3 is no more. With the DualShock 3 being released next week in North America, Sony has confirmed they will no longer be producing the SIXAXIS. In a statement to Multiplayer, a representative of Sony had this to say:
Sixaxis will no longer be offered after it’s completely sold through at retail (likely by the summer timeframe).
Look for some fire sales this summer as retailers try to liquidate stock. If rumble isn’t your thing, you might be able to pick up a couple cheap controllers.
So I guess sony finally realized that not enough people care about gimped motion controls to actualy use them. I’ll admit it sounded cool, but I really hate having to move my control when I play video games. First of all, it makes you look like a tard, and secondly, sometimes you just want to sit back and play without haveing to move your controller around.
I want Sony to give me my money back for the one controller I purchased. It’s only fair that if they have zero confidence in their product that they should issue refunds.
@Fragloser – DualShock3 has SIXAXIS motion controls in it as well. I personally like the motion controls in a lot of games

because they feel nobody wants them now that the Dual Shock 3 is out. Dual shock has the sixaxis motion controls in it.
Dual shock is just vibration right? and the six axis is where you can move the controller and the thing moves?

Yeah, the Dual Shock 3 has the “Sixaxis” blue print logo on it as well as the “Dual Shock 3″ blue print logo. I got mine and have been using it all weekend. I didn’t realize how much I missed dual shock until I didn’t have it. Resistance feels so much more fun with dual shock.
Uncharted is even more amazing with rumble. Gonna have to play through the whole thing again. Same with Heavenly Sword. I’m also really liking MLB 08 The Show with rumble
Damn, I’ll have to get HEavenly Sword and Uncharted back from my brother and my nephew so I can give them another playthrough.
