Condemned 2 Bloodshot is a very dark and twisted game that kind of blurs the line between reality and the paranormal. At first glance the game reminds me a lot of Max Payne in that it is very dark and there are many demented noises to set the mood. You are a detective/special agent Ethan Thomas and your primary mode of attack is beating people with your bare fists or anything you can grab up off the floor.

As I played through you see the “infected” or enemies and then some slimy black goo like enemies. I am not sure if these are meant to be superhuman or not? The game definitely has the dark and eerie portion down, but the element if the enemies are human or monsters is a bit odd. Is this supposed to be science fiction or mimic real life?

Condemned works hard to earn it’s Mature rating and there is no lack of blood in the game. You can beat people with anything from a pipe to a Foosball table leg. There are also some pretty funny finishing moves, once your enemy is stunned you can grab hima nd walk him over to certain areas where it will initiate a finishing move. These are pretty intereting and can range from throwing a guy into a dumpster and putting his head ina toilet.

I got some quick hands on time with the multiplayer modes and they seem like fun but I need to learn a bit more about what is going on. The game is slower paced than your regular shooter like Halo or Rainbow, but does offer some twists on the multiplayer side like the one mode where you have to look for crime scene evidence. One side are the villains and try to hide the evidence, while the opposing team are the detectives try to hunt them down and scan the evidence before time runs out.

The hand to hand combat in the game is kind of slow and at times sloppy as well as the gunplay not being very crisp.
