MTV Games and Harmonix sent out a press release today that dropped a ton of information about Rock Band. First off, they’ve had over 6 million downloadable songs purchased between the Xbox 360 and PS3. That’s a ton of downloads.
To make it easier to find songs in the vast sea of DLC, a new in-game Rock Band Store is coming an a software update this week for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. More screenshots are available after the jump.
Even more, a lot of new fixes are available in this upcoming software update:
- Fan cap revision — Increase on number of fans possible before cap. Easy players can travel across Atlantic, Medium players have a wider range of venues and Hard players on the Xbox 360 can unlock “One Million Fans” achievement.
- Increased diversity in Band World Tour song selection.
- Improved phoneme recognition — Improved detection and scoring for phoneme recognition. Examples are songs like Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld and Blitzkrieg Bop.
- Microphone latency on PS3 improved.
- Xbox 360 band logos now visible through Xbox LIVE — Parental controls prevented band logos from being visible over Xbox LIVE.
- Faster loading of DLC — Songs are cached for a one time wait.
MTV and Harmonix are really doing a great job of listening to the community. Fire up your copy of Rock Band this week to get the new update and rock out with your cock out. If you have one, that is.

fauken has a point, Online Tour is big on my wish list for Rock Band. But I wanted this store just a little more.
Yeah there is a rumored patch to add in Online Tour this summer, lets see if it comes true or not.
