Capcom will be releasing a nice long beta testing period for Super Street Fighter II HD Remix on Xbox Live Arcade. PS3 users, go cry in a corner.
If you buy Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, you’ll be able to enter the beta. Commando 3 will run you 800 MS Points from the XBLA once it’s released. However, the PSN version won’t include the beta. Capcom tried to calm the storm of fanboys by releasing some reasons why the PS3 version won’t include the beta.
Mainly, they would have to submit for three approvals for the PS3 (US, Europe, and Japan) for the beta versus the one approval for the Xbox 360. They just didn’t have the time and resources to get it done. They’re also way over budget and the timeline already, so the big wigs at Capcom didn’t want to invest even more time and money into a beta test.
I bet this 8 week beta test will make Command 3 a top seller pretty quickly on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Dude, Crackdown is a good game on its own. I doub’t 99% of the sales were just because of the beta. I got crackdown because I loved the demo and not because of the Halo 3 beta. Anyone that buys a game to get into a beta is an idiot.
Crackdown is good. But is it $60 tax good? Absolutely not. The game is entertaining for what it is, a bargain bin game. Microsoft should poll the people who have Crackdown, because I am damn sure the vast majority of people who bought this game did so for the Halo 3 beta.
If they had released Crackdown by itself, for $59.99 it would not have sold.
If they had released it for $20-30 I probably would’ve bought it.
If Microsoft had charge $10-15 for the Halo 3 beta, I guarantee people would’ve taken the bait and not bother to buy Crackdown.
I think Crackdown was 60 bucks good. I would have bought it regardless of the beta.
