Haze will be Exclusive, Mass Effect 2 a Timed Release

Haze Screenshot

The fanboys are at it again over the news released recently that Haze, the anticipated shooter will be only coming to the PS3. There were grumblings that the can may have a future release on the 360, but those have recently been quashed. Furthermore, Mass Effect 2 looks to be a Xbox 360 exclusive as well, but only for a little while. The space based RPG which made waves for all the right and wrong reasons, looks to finish its anticipated trilogy on MS, but will then soon go to the PS3 says Bioware. It looks as if some developers are willing to spread the wealth while other want to stay on a single console. That ethos seems like a death knell for sales figures.

    Haha too bad it seems like Haze will suck :) . Nah just kidding but Gamestop did take a pretty big stand when they pretty much are letting people rent it in Canada free for 7 days lol.

    The 360 gets the first 3 Mass Effect games. If the PS3 gets anything, it will just be part of the Mass Effect universe.

    y2julio: Not necessarily. SInce EA bought Bioware, they’re now the publisher. MS doesn’t have the rights to the series, so EA and Bioware are free to bring the game to any other platform. I think they’re throwing MS a bone by keeping Mass Effect 2 a timed exclusive. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it end up on the PS3 a few months after the 360 release.

    @Fragloser, It’s not a free rental, you have to place a $60 deposit ;)

    If Microsoft had an agreement with BioWare to keep the trilogy a Microsoft exclusive then EA must honor the contract. When a company acquires another company they also must follow any current standing contracts and any legal obligations.

    Right, but there is no contract for a trilogy. The game was planned as a trilogy, but there is no exclusive contract for all 3 games

    Well if there isn’t one in place, Microsoft needs to put one in place. They should just buy EA.
