You know what we thought was going to be a sequel to Lost Planet? That little thing called Colonies? Turns out is just a super special edition of the game. Bummer. According to a scan from the upcoming Famitsu magazine, it’s just a beefed up version of Lost Planet. Here’s what you can expect over and above the already released gamed:
- New Multiplayer modes, including Humans VS Akrid
- 4 New maps, 2 of which are possibly a city and a desert
- New Female Playable Character
- Ten New weapons
- New Monsters
- Trial Battle and Score Attack modes for the campaign bosses
- 360/PC Cross-platform play
It looks like PS3 owners are getting the shaft here. Even though they just got Lost Planet, they’ll be forced to watch from the sidelines as 360 and PC players get the extra special goodness from Colonies.
No pricing or release date has been set. I’m hoping this is a $40 title, since the game has been out for a long time now. We’ll see what happens.

They probably could have released all this as DLC, but they’re choosing not to. I just say 1up is reporting this will only cost $29.99
Thats dumb. I’m not going to buy the same game again. They should just release the extra content as DLC.
I didn’t even like this game. But I will say it would be cool if they made more games cross-platform.
Lost Planet was a hit or miss. Either you liked it or you didnt.
