The anti-Gamestop sentiments seem to be reaching ever farther. Our EIC, Matt, discussed a recent unpleasant experience at a local Gamestop on our last podcast. It turns out, the bullshit spreads. I came across an interesting story from Sarcasticgamer. The story goes like this: He is in a local store and sees behind the counter some of the new Halo 3 figures. He asked to check out the Master Chief and is not impressed. The manager adds that the Cortana figure was extremely badass, but he bought the only one that they got before it even hit the shelves. Puzzled, the author replies to something like, “Way to leave the good stuff for your paying customers”. Another employee tells him that its a perk for working at Gamestop.
So on top of your $9 an hour wage, you get to pilfer all of the limited edition swag and all the consoles you can handle? There are widespread reports of Gamestop employees buying up all the Wii’s and flooding them on eBay to make a quick buck while fucking both the corporation they work for and the customer at the same time. I for one could care less what happens in a Gamestop, but find it amusing that these so-called gaming experts continue to alienate the casual gamer that makes up a huge share of the market. It sort of makes you not want to shop there. On the contrary, if I worked at Victoria’s Secret, we would have a merchandise page filled with more thongs than the eye could see.

That’s nothing new, my uncle worked at Toys R Us when he was younger and he used to do the same thing with GI Joes.
Hehe it took you guys that long to figure that out
. You do realize that all the games that you play from there have already been played, aka why they aren’t in the box. If a title is not in high demand, or has been out for a week, the employees take the game home for a day or two after the store closes.
Lol there has to be some benefits when you are only getting paid $9 an hour
promotional items
corporate gifts
$9 an hour?! I *wish* I made that much there! My 2 biggest raises came from the increase in national minimum wage.
>_<
not only is there a limit on the number of such items that can be bought (one per person) but all employees are made aware if get caught buying it and selling it on e-bay they will be fired. and knowing whether or not someone still has there system is easy to do when you work with them on a regular basis. also a large majority of gamestop’s staff is hired in at minimum wage not $9/hr. and feel free to cry about them buying crappy action figures before you can. i dont see why its a big deal, im sure you can find it online (especially if they are selling it on e-bay after they buy it).
