Major Nelson dropped word that a demo for MLB 2K8 is now available for the Xbox 360. The demo weighs in at 968.95 MB and allows you to play the Red Sox vs. Rockies in a quick 3 inning game.
I’ve been playing this game for a bit now and I’m very disappointed. Expect a full review soon, but the framerate is horrible. Anything in the field (not pitcher/batter) stutters like there’s no tomorrow. What happened to that “at or near 60fps” we heard in the developer conference call?
Download the demo and check it out for yourself. PS3 owners will get the chance tomorrow with the PlayStation Store update.

Yeah I was literally yelling at the game the first time I played. I had high expectations after the developer conference call. But the framerate ruins the game. There are other things that annoy me. I would hands down recommend MLB 08 The Show as the best baseball game this year (even if the framerate gets patched)
I’ll probably pick up The Show this weekend.
Rockies vs. Red Sox? Weren’t those the two teams in the MLB 08 demo?
Yeah. They’re the two teams that played in the World Series last year. That’s the way the demos always work
sounds good
ill download it today
thanks
Ok so I have played both. And the only thing I like more on 2k8 is the batting. Other than that, MLB 08 beats 2k8 in everything. Stupid GameCrazy employees telling me 2k8 is by far better. I hate them. Which reminds me, the same guy was trying to convince me that graphics where more important than gameplay. I highly disagree and I’m sure every real gamer would agree with me. Gameplay is much more important to me than graphics. If my resolution in a fps game for pc drops below 40 fps I turn down the graphics.
Gameplay is way more important than graphics, especially in a gameplay-intensive sport like baseball.
hmm, Im usually in the middle of both
I like gameplay but graphics are such an eye candy and makes th egame even more sexy and worth of playing
I’m always on the gameplay side. Maybe that’s why I like Pac-Man so much.
