Remember how Mario Kart for Wii was only going to have text chat? Time to revise that statement. IGN got an update from Nintendo.
Apparently, gamers will only be able to select from a pre-determined number of phrases that can be sent along as rudimentary texts before matches. Nintendo is clearly playing it safe.
You’ve got to be freaking kidding me. Maybe they should allow full chat and have Chris Hansen monitor everything. Hopefully there’s a text choice there to tell a player to suck my balls.

and then you plan on chargin for some services? lmao I have a feeling Nintendo wants to ruin their online and then announce a subscription fee that enables you to chat and such, and considering the online would be fucked up… everyone will want to jump ships to subscription based
Heck Even I would, stupid me I guess
Really text shortcuts, thats what Nintendo is reducing their online experience to? Just sad. Why not tell us we need 3D glasses to play while your at it or that Mario Kart on the Wii will be on a new technology called the cart, you have to blow into it 3 times to get it to work but its fine.
wow… Nintendo is just on a roll here. What’s next?
Mario gets to talk for you:
“Suck-a my-a meat-a balls-a”
LOL, that pre-fab phrase shit was in Phantasy Star Online also. It sucked then, it sucks now.
awesome job nintendo. You are doing great when it comes to online.
Seriously, these random comments one show while playing like on Smash Brawl is really pathetic ;(
