This is a pretty interesting report on how a group of researchers is working on contacts with built in electronics that could be used for enhanced vision. The possibilities of this kind of technological advance are huge, the capability to zoom in on things, night vision or even playing video games without a television. Obviously the most important one being the last point about gaming with your contacts! Only problem I can see is how do you power these remotely and not electrocute your eyes?

I just wonder if there will be side-effects…
I am sure there will be some kind of side effect to having bionic contacts. The interesting part is how they will generate power for them? That would be pretty sweet though if you could close your eyes and play video games!!

that would be awesome! But yeah, I wonder about side effects. I guess if it’s incased in a contact the worst that could happen we be getting itchy or dry eyes. Well maybe if it was cut open it would electrecute you too…
