Drunk Pandas must be some sort of Friggin’ Psychic. How long has it been? One day?

Spooky.

Anyways.

Earlier this morning the good folks over at Microsoft confirmed the price drop of their HD-DVD unit from $129.99 to $49.99, according to Bloomberg. Not much of a surprise there. But for some (myself included) the real questions are: A). Is anyone actually going to buy this thing now? And B). If no one does, just how far will the price drop after this point? Should we start a pool or something?

I will say one thing. The price drop almost makes me want to make a purchase. Almost.

I suppose that you could still buy one to save the wear and tear on your main units drive. It can still play regular DVDs after all. So I suppose the $49.99 price point is a god send for those who have a 360 but a crappy DVD player. And I guess if you live out in the middle of nowhere and have no idea that HD-DVDs died out, you would get a massive woody over this (metaphorically speaking of course).

And as far as the possibilities of other price drops in the future, I’m holding solid on $29.99. Unless it’s one of those red-tag closeouts, then I’m going down to $14.99. Who’s with me?! Oh wait, there’s no one here. Shit.

Well, that’s all I can come up with people. If you can come up with other Pros/Cons regarding the price drop, feel free to leave a post. Maybe this will come up on one of our Podcasts (which rock by the way).

We have a contest going on besides that, so it’s kinda win-win huh?

Durka!!

It’s pretty pointless to me. The format is dead. I’m not sure why someone would still want to buy the drive.
