Nintendo is looking to cash on in online play for some upcoming games. Considering the fact that their online service is almost non-existent, this is pretty surprising.
Dubbed “Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay and Play”, the service will allow users to subscribe to a game to play online. No pricing was announced, but subscribe sounds like a monthly fee per game here. No games were announced for using the feature either. To avoid confusion, titles that support Pay and Play will have a red icon on the box instead of the current blue Wi-Fi Connection icon.
Seriously, this is one of the dumbest moves Nintendo could make. You take what’s essentially a non-existent online service with extreme clunky friend codes and want people to pay for it? No thanks. I’ll stick to the free online play on the PS3 and Xbox Live. At least with Live, I’m getting a decent service for what I’m paying.

Agree on the whole news
what the fuck nintendo? just, what the fuck? ;(
I havent used your console in such a long time, and now I wont buy any games that are related to this unless you give me a service like Live and destroy friend codes
anyways, Brawl doesnt use it, the only game needed for wii and the only good game for wii so far other than Paper Mario, Zelda and Galaxy.
Wow… that’s all I have to say. They are going to charge you money for something alot less the the PSN, which is free. Does anyone find that Nintendo anoucer did to be annoying and stupid. Not Miyamoto, that other guy. “And for the first time, Mario Kart will have online play”… crickets sounds
They have the worst online support from the three next gen systems and they have the audacity to charge for online play?! I guess I’ll have to disappoint the public and keep my Wii off the internet.
lolz everyone wants to be MS.
