One thing not discussed in the conference call for MLB 2K8 was the differences between the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. It was just assumed that everything was kosher. Well, according to an article in this month’s Game Informer, there’s just too much content to fit on a DVD.
There is so much content included in the game that it couldn’t all fit onto the 360 disc. Free downloadable content will be provided for what was left out.
Yikes. Just what is this content, you ask? For Xbox 360 users, you’ll have to download the unlockable stadiums and Cool Base uniforms that are included on the disc for PS3 owners. I had a feeling we’d be hitting the DVD size limits sooner rather than later, but in a sports game this soon? Ruh Roh.

its only 2008, what will happen in 2011? o.o
Yeah it’s becoming an ever increasing issue. I would say this is an advantage to the PS3 version, but there’s no DualShock 3 support in the game (it may or may not be added in the future). I do enjoy force feedback in sports games.
ewww, no dualshock 3 support?
im guessing since the dualshock 3 hasnt arrived in the US yet, they dont feel the need to. It is fixable by a patch like you stated but still, many PS3 games support it like (Uncharted, Resistance, etc..) they are just messed up, idk
I would think the blu-ray would be the perfect drive if it didnt read so slow, if only blu-ray drives from the PS3 read at least at 4x or 6x then it would be perfect, but so far its just good, if not better than the 360 imo but still not perfect.
Oh well, maybe PS4? Xbox 720? idk
There isn’t a concrete release date for DualShock3 in the US yet, so that’s probably why, like you said. It’s definitely able to added via a patch, which has been done with quite a few games already. It’s just up to the developer.
The BluRay drive in the PS3 reads at 2x, which isn’t that much slower than the 12x DVD in the Xbox360. The read speeds are only a couple MB/sec different, which makes probably a real world 1-2 second load time difference.
Interesting… I thought we would have seen this in something like Call of Duty 4 first. Well I guess we did see it with UT3, but is that even out yet for Xbox360? Besides UT is suppose to be a PC game.
