LMAO, some sections are just LMAO

“I thought you had Fusion Frenzy for free?”

    -”did i?”

    - “thats more of a punishment”

    - “thats like saying: here, you won Syphilis”

    lol

I do agree and disagree with you guys on somethings:

Agree: How XNA costs, which is meh.
Infinity Ward= one of the best devs Ive seen.
GeOW 2 wont outhype Halo 3, Halo 3=most overhyped game of all time.
    GeOW1 was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too short.
    Limitation of DVD size.
    - Its fucking insane how they made a video playing the NG2 demo for Xbox Live, seriously wtf?
    - Without competition, economy wont advance.

Disagree: I did like Tokyo Drift XD and even burnout paradise.
I liked the fact GeoW1 was all based on one button (A)

Very Nice podcast guys, great for a first one. But maybe for future podcast you can speak less into the mic (in which we hear the air coming out and hitting the mic) and maybe have an ending song like the opining you had? idk, just suggestions. Maybe read some post questions? maybe read some fan mail? answer some questions/doubts we have with games/your site?

cant wait for next monday’s topic, will you post the topic in the middle of the week? end of the week? or not?

Great feedback! Definitely stuff we want to hear!

We already fixed some of the things you mentioned (new mics for some of us, ending song in place already).

We’re still evolving the podcast, so we’ll see what we can do about incorporating topics and reader questions. We’ll be running polls for podcast topics and such in the future, so stay tuned. Maybe we’ll run a poll for this next one :)

    hmmmmm some things to consider:

    1. about the “XNA” games and pricing:

    From Shacknews:
“Director of Microsoft XNA game platform marketing Dave Mitchell has told Shacknews that games produced under the Xbox Live Community Games program will be available for all Xbox Live users–even those members with free Silver accounts.”

There is no current plans for price, but that may change before launch. Also read an interview in which they said games will NOT be filtered by M$ but rather “judged” by the community. The question was raised cause a journalists asked “what happens if someone goes too far, as in too violent etc.” For now, they have decided its up to the community to say of whats ok and whats not. (No way that’ll last lol)

    2. The gears 2 (UE3) Tech was more than “just a cube of meat”. There’s has been major overhaul to the lighting and character renderer. Literally hundreds of NPC’s with advanced A.I. routines can be on screen in real time. (looks amazing, and could provide a sense of epic scale) Water now looks and behaves more realistically than ever. Oh and lets not forget… FULLY DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIRONMENTS! (where the hell you gonna duck and cover if I blow that shit into pieces!?!?!) Alot of that could dynamically affect gameplay, and how you think used to play GoW.

    3. “Oh noes, DVD is gonna make all future games on 360 multi disc!”
ok, I made that quote up. But ya’ll overplayed the DVD thing a lil bit. First of all, Lost Odyssey is 4 discs because of the use of HD FMV to supplement in-game story. Not surprising as this is from the creator of the FF series (?) which relies heavily on this method and also was multi disc. This, along with the games multi audio language tracks (more than any other game I hear) eats up a shit ton of disc space. And frankly, is just poor design decision IMO.

Just look at games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, and GTA4 which all have above average hours of gameplay, super detailed environment\textures\etc., and ALL of which are UNDER 8.5GB. No need to worry yet guys.

    4. GoW2 will not be 2 discs. No need to swap for single and multiplayer. Not gonna happen. see above. “If” there’s a need for more content and space, it will come in the form of DLC. Like GTA4, and GoW before it.

5.I hate reading so I apologize in advance for this lengthy post. I probably could keep going too. But I’ll end with Good Job. Maybe do just a tiny bit more research on your topics before hand.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the feedback guys. New mics are on the way, I was actually using the RockBand mic so I guess that just wont cut it.

I also have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with our first podcast! Good job team, hopefully we can make em better each time we do them.

Let us know if you readers would like ot hear us discuss anyhting in particular. Peace.

OK, first the nitpicking. The dude who keeps saying, “…I mean…” stop it. It just irks me, that and when people use “like” in every sentence.

Al, if you don’t want to buy a new mic, let me know. I have the USB mic from SOCOM for PS2, it’s a standard USB headset, if you want it.

Overall, I think you guys did a great job for a first try. You guys stayed on topic, rarely went off on tangents.

I’m glad you guys touched on my issues with Gears of War, namely the not-so-greatly executed duck n cover system. For a game that was inspired by paintball, they certainly didn’t seem to play enough paintball to actually know how the sport works.

As for multi-disc games, I honestly am very indifferent to it. FFVII is one game that was multi disc and I don’t remember people being annoyed by it. People were more impressed by the magnitude of the title than the slight inconvenience of having to walk 6 feet to change a disc. People complaining about multi-disc are going to be in the minority. Chances are, instead of multi-disc, GoW2 will have a download waiting when the game comes out, then when you go to play it’ll download the extra stuff (as a required update) before you start playing. And if the destructible environments is as fun as in Uncharted (where you basically can’t hide behind anything for very long), I can’t wait.

As for the fanboy rant, AMEN.

Congrats on the inaugural podcast, guys. Good stuff. As others have mentioned, the audio quality needed some work but I see you’ve already addressed that.
While I miss Crash mode from Burnout I still really enjoy the game despite that (I’m playing the PS3 version as my local Best Buy was sold out of the 360 version and I was too impatient to wait a few more days).
I thought you guys were a little harsh regarding XNA. It was really meant as a teaser for the full release in Fall and games developed using those tools may get released free of charge on PC as XNA is not platform specific.
Moving forward, maybe you can clearly define each segment (news/reviews/rant/etc) and add a little musical interstitial between each for added flair! Just some constructive comments - I look forward to seeing how this podcast develops.
